Lamb Shawarma

Hey babes. Welcome back to another post. This week I will be sharing one of my favorite cold weather dishes. I made this dish for our family Christmas dinner this year and everyone loved it! Its super easy, healthy, and delicious!

I really believe in living an intentional life. From the moment I wake up every decision I make shapes my day. From the thoughts I think, the outfit I pick out, the actions I take, and the way I fuel my body. All of the above create your world and who you are! Putting my best self forward makes for a positive momentum in my life. Doing everything with intention has improved my self talk and confidence. It is no coincidence that my salon is named Intentions. Everything I do always has a deeper meaning to me. Down to the food I eat.

Choosing to fuel my body with healthy food is how I show my body gratitude and respect. Your body is your vessel and taking time to appreciate it daily is important to me. The way I eat shows appreciation for having a willing and able body. What you put in your body is how you communicate to it. When you think about it like that, what are you saying to your body?

Ok, so for this recipe you will need a large slow cooker. I don’t own an insta pot but Im sure that will work too but obviously the cooking time will be less. You can use bone in or boneless lamb shoulder or leg. If using bone-in lamb then there will be no need to marinate it. For boneless lamb I suggest marinating for a least an hour before cooking. I like to prep the meat the night before and then have it marinate all night and when I wake up I just need to pop it in the slow cooker.

First you will make a homemade shawarma rub.

RUB RECIPE: 3 garlic cloves, minced 1 Tbsp ground coriander 1 Tbsp cardamon 1/2 Tbsp ground cumin 1 Tsp cayenne pepper 2 tsp smoked paprika 2 tsp sea salt 2 tsp black pepper 1/4 cup olive oil 3 Tbsp fresh lemon juice

Mix everything together in a bowl. This rub works well on chicken too! Really any meat.

Slather your 4 lb lamb with the rub. Then cook it in your slow cooker for 7-8 hours on low heat. Serve with broccoli or for those of you that aren’t afraid of carbs, jasmine rice. Voila, its that easy!I keep the leftovers for lunch. This lamb is great reheated.

Now it is your turn! Go in the kitchen and get creative. I hope your family enjoys it as much as mine did. Be mindful of what you put in your body and how you fuel yourself. Show yourself some love by taking care of your body.

Peace & love.

Jules
